It was 2022, and unknown spheres had already been trespassing across the skies all over the world for over a year. While still researching what those spheres are, humanity unknowingly is letting dangerous and fatal alien eggs mature above the sky, before they reach their hatching time.
Those spheres start falling onto the Earth after they have matured, and numerous deadly, squid-like aliens come out from each one upon impact. Those aliens move at terrifying speeds when chasing, hunting, and killing humans for food. What is known about these aliens is they can only be killed using rifles with depleted uranium ammo—no other weakness of them has yet been discovered by the human race.
Faced with this invasive and seemingly superior species, the country finds itself lacking manpower to fight back. The government decides to have 3rd grade high school students drafted too as reserve forces to increase the manpower, but without letting them know the country's true state of emergency.
This drama focuses on depicting the story of the students of Class 3-2 at Seong Jin High School, beginning when their homeroom teacher breaks it to them that they have to choose either joining the reserve force voluntarily and receive military training after school, or be sent somewhere else to continue their studies remotely.
In a way to encourage high participation, the government even goes to the extent of offering CSAT extra credit to students who volunteer to enlist. Unaware that the government's real reason behind their recruitment is for them to fight aliens, all students of Class 3-2 agree to join as a reserve force with their parents' consent, and begin their after-school military training.
They only discover the truth after witnessing aliens kill and feed on humans during their way back to school from an outdoor rifle shooting exercise. Shaken by the shocking encounter and the loss of their homeroom teacher right before their eyes, the students of Class 3-2 incite a riot among other classes against the soldiers stationed at the school one day after that, demanding to be sent home.
Amid the chaos from the clash between students and soldiers, a sphere crashes right in front of them — soon followed by several more landing around the school. Aliens emerge from the fallen spheres and quickly start attacking both students and soldiers. Many lives perish, becoming food for the aliens, and only some of them manage to board military trucks to urgently relocate to military base camps.

As they navigate the challenges brought their way by the aliens, can they stay safe and alive until the end?
