Highlights and Afterthoughts:
🟡 Yeol already knows Eun Jo is Gil Dong.
– It turns out he saw the arrows and butcher mask that Eun Jo threw inside the well floating to the surface before he left the spot.
– That's why Yeol is not shocked by Eun Jo being there at fake Gil Dong's burial site.
💭 Waa, Yeol is so understanding. The reason he did not tell Eun Jo that he knows she is Gil Dong is because he feels Eun Jo might want no one to know who Gil Dong really is.

🟡 Yeol (in Eun Jo's body) doesn't hold back in putting Eun Jo's in-laws in their place with ‘etiquette education’.
– Seung Jae is trying to reprimand Eun Jo (Yeol's soul) after he saw Eun Jo (Yeol's soul) parting ways with a man the night before.
– Seeing that Seung Jae doesn't know Yeol (Eun Jo's soul) was the man Eun Jo (Yeol's soul) met, Yeol (Eun Jo's body) calmly lies that the man was Dae Il, Eun Jo's brother.
– Just like that, Yeol smoothly gets himself out of the tight spot without budging an inch.
– She also demands due respect from Seung Jae to be given to her now that she is an elder in the family.
💭 Good job, Yeol👏🏻 That way Seung Jae will think twice first if he wants to bully Eun Jo later!
💬 Yeol is really intelligent in the way he stays calm when cornered by Seung Jae.

💬 Yeol looks cool too, especially when he firmly puts Jae Yi in his place. He reminds Jae Yi of his position by calling him “grandson.”

🟡 The King shows signs of addiction to the poisonous incense. He gives the order to resume the burning of the incense.
💭 Stupid King! Is it too hard for the King to know he is getting addicted to the incense and that this definitely isn't a good thing?

🟡 Hae Rim has called off her engagement with Jae Yi as Jae Yi requested.
💭 Does this mean we are going to have a love rectangle between our main leads? Hae Rim and Jae Yi will look cute though if they have a love line with each other.

🟡 Foreshadowing that Eun Jo will be caught for disturbing the foundation of Joseon?
– Eun Jo made a promise to Yeol that she will make sure Yeol is the one to catch her if there is ever a situation where she must be caught.

💭 Arghh... if there is a plot where Eun Jo must be caught, I hope the writer won't make it too hard on Eun Jo. It will put many viewers in agony if we have to watch Eun Jo being tortured with harsh physical punishment.

🟡 The Chief Secretary feels Prince Lee Yeol is oddly getting in the way of his evil plan, and hence he wants to look for an excuse as justification to remove Prince Lee Yeol.
💭 Rotten wicked Chief Secretary! What makes him even more rotten is that he didn't consider Jae Yi as his son. He told Jae Yi to do the job instead because he wants to avoid any potential danger from happening to him and his first son.
💬 Jae Yi is also a poor thing. He treats himself so lowly that he called himself a 'beast'.

🟡 There is a suspicious man with a wooden ring with the Hanja "名" on it.
– The man takes down Gil Dong's poster and receives a red paper with the order to catch Gil Dong.
💭 In my eyes, that man looks like a grim reaper because the poster he took down is a poster announcing the death of Gil Dong.

🟡 Soul swap again.

– Yeol (in Eun Jo's body) is stopped by the suspicious man with a sword when he is on his way to look for Dae Il.
– At the same time, Eun Jo (in Yeol's body) is stopped by Royal Investigative Bureau soldiers led by Jae Yi. Jae Yi said Prince Lee Yeol is to be arrested for releasing Gil Dong the murderer.

– Amidst all of that, suddenly, there is the sound of a ringing bell. Following that, both Yeol and Eun Jo are clutching their chests in pain, and with that, their souls return to their own bodies.
💭 It seems like there is someone—maybe a deity or supernatural entity—who is watching over them. When the bell rings, it looks like someone is watching Eun Jo from a distance.
💬 Will the soul swap happen every time they are both in danger? So they both can save each other?

Other happenings:
🔵 Poor Yeol. He looks so much withered after he heard the Queen Dowager doesn't want him to have any tie with a lowborn woman.
– He must be feeling so distressed thinking that his love for Eun Jo does not receive his mom's approval.

🔵 Gosh! The Queen Dowager is still not giving up on finding out who the lady Yeol (Eun Jo's soul) is running hand in hand with! Does the Queen Dowager intend to betroth Yeol to Hae Rim?

🔵 Oh my God! Eun Jo (Yeol's soul) get caught by Jae Yi walking around in the palace as a court lady. I was hoping Eun Jo wouldn’t get caught, but thank God at least Jae Yi won’t tell his father or his brother about it.

🔵 It's a bit frustrating to see Eun Jo not being cautious enough about her own distance with Hae Rim when her soul is inside Yeol's body.

– Talking and laughing together with Hae Rim about their common hobby, literally right after Eun Jo (Yeol's body) has saved Hae Rim from being mocked by other ladies, could make Hae Rim fall for Yeol! After all, Yeol is handsome too! Does one really need to be a genius for Eun Jo to be aware of that?

Highlights:
● On the first morning as Eun Jo, Yeol just gets to know that Eun Jo's husband is not Jae Yi but the Im family's grandpa.
– Not only that, Yeol also gets to know that Eun Jo has become a widow overnight on her wedding day.

Yeol and Eun Jo go out together to think of ways to swap their souls back to their own bodies.
– They first brainstorm together on why the soul swap suddenly happened to them, and then they go to see a shaman to seek help, but only to no avail.
– They later try to trigger the soul swap again by holding their hands and hugging together, yet nothing happens.

– Their last resort is to wait till curfew while hoping their souls will swap back to their own bodies at that time. However, their souls still do not return to their own bodies even after curfew has rung.

● When Dae Chu comes to tell Yeol (Eun Jo's soul) that the Queen Dowager is starving herself while waiting for Yeol to return to the palace, only then does Yeol (in Eun Jo's body) tell Eun Jo (in Yeol's body) that he is a Grand Prince.

● Since their souls still have not returned to their own bodies, they decide to be each other for the time being.

● Eun Jo (in Yeol's body) quickly ventilates the King's room which is filled with thick smoke and stops the burning of the poisonous incense after she unintentionally wakes up the King from His Majesty's sleep.

● Fake Gil Dong is used and later killed to close the case of murdering the former Chief Inspector.

● Eun Jo (in Yeol's body) is brawling intensely with someone in a sword fight who later turns out to be Yeol (in Eun Jo's body) when their face is unveiled.

– Eun Jo (in Yeol's body) is waiting at the fake Gil Dong's burial place to see the culprit's face if they ever come to retrieve the fake Gil Dong's body.

Afterthoughts on the highlights:
● Yeol gets angry with himself for wishing Eun Jo well when bidding goodbye to her without knowing her husband-to-be is an old grandpa.
– If I was Yeol, I would be furious with myself too if I wished well to my lover only to unknowingly let them proceed with a highly disadvantageous arranged marriage.
– When Yeol said to Eun Jo that she didn't have to proceed with her marriage and she could have told him, there is the comfort of a protector that comes with those lines of his—they delight the heart of the listener and even the viewers'.

● In the situation where Eun Jo has married another person, there should be no reason for Yeol and Eun Jo to meet and hang out together again, other than for them to move on from each other. Nevertheless, their souls are now swapped. As they search for a way back to their own bodies, they have no choice but to spend a lot of time closely with each other.

As a supporter of them, it is nice to see the sudden soul swap bring them closer 😌

● It feels like it is the right time for Eun Jo to know that Yeol is a Grand Prince, in the circumstance where their souls are swapped.
– It is absurd for Eun Jo (in Yeol's body) to live as a Grand Prince, but I think that will make it easier for her to understand Yeol better.

● It’s clever of them to jot down notes for each other so they can use them while living as one another.

The plot also feels more real when Eun Jo asks Yeol to act as if they don’t see each other’s bodies.

● Applause for Eun Jo, she is so selfless!! She knows she is meddling with not just anyone's business, but a King's, yet the wellbeing of the King is more important than being scared of the King's anger.

● Damn it, the Chief Secretary and his son, Im Seung Jae! How convenient for them to close the case just by killing the fake Gil Dong.

● It’s so thrilling and exciting to watch it turn out that Lee Yeol is the one brawling with Eun Jo! 🤩⚔️ Their sword fight was absolutely exhilarating!!!!!

Other happenings:
● The Queen Dowager saw Yeol (Eun Jo's soul) running at the palace's court while holding hands together.

– As one of supporters for DoDo couple, I can't help but feel Eun Jo is careless. However, it's understandable—Eun Jo herself must be bewildered to suddenly become Yeol and wake up in the palace. I just hope Yeol won't be betrothed to Hae Rim because of that.

● Seung Jae has a spy called Heuk Geom planted at the police bureau. Heuk Geom won't be someone we already know, right? Betrayal is a lame thing to do though.

Highlights:
Jae Yi is a child of a gisaeng.
Jae Yi's rough attitude toward Eun Jo is him self-projecting—he despises the fact that he is a half noble.
– As a half noble himself, Jae Yi pushes Eun Jo to stop her from proceeding with the marriage to his grandpa because he knows his older brother is planning to treat her badly for her half noble status once she becomes a daughter-in-law of the family.

– However, Jae Yi is enraged too seeing Eun Jo reminds him he has no choice but to be in an arranged marriage with the cousin of Her Majesty the Queen, becoming like a breeding stallion and being controlled by his father.

An incident in the Gyeongo Year.
– Something really bad must have happened in the Gyeongo Year. Something so bad that Hong Min Jik, Eun Jo's father, still feels dreadful and turns down the offer to return as a Chief Inspector although the King asks him to fill in the vacancy.
– Prince Lee Yeol's meet-up with the King has his mom, the Queen Dowager, worried to death for days. Her Majesty is reminded of the dreadful incident of the Gyeongo Year.

Eun Jo and Yeol's heartbreak.
Eun Jo tells Yeol not to go see her anymore because she is getting married in 10 days. After being shut away by Eun Jo, Yeol appears distraught and doesn't seem like himself. His emotions' ups and downs are in total disorder, that one moment he's laughing for no reason and the next moment he's back to feeling dejected.
– Still wanting to try to change Eun Jo's heart, Yeol pathetically goes to see Eun Jo again.

Yeol tells Eun Jo that she just needs to say she will accept him, meaning he will take responsibility for whatever comes afterward. Eun Jo is dazed by how sincere Yeol is, but she chooses to turn Yeol down harshly, for she fears her family will be thrown out of the house they currently live in if she were to break off her engagement.
– On the day Eun Jo is set to get married, heartbroken Yeol still has Eun Jo living rent-free in his mind. The rainy day makes Yeol even more concerned for Eun Jo, till he goes and leaves flower shoes along with straw shoes for her before she heads to her groom-to-be's house.
– It is heart-wrenching to see Eun Jo become a widow even before she is properly married into the family.

Soul swapping between Eun Jo and Yeol.
– A little monk gives Eun Jo and Yeol a red and blue thread bracelet each after they both make a donation.
– Their souls are swapped when Eun Jo is dizzy after she falls from a roof and Yeol falls asleep after he drinks some alcohol.

Afterthoughts on the highlights:
● Good parents most likely will have children with good manners too. Given how Jae Yi and his elder brother's mannerisms are, apparently the Chief Secretary must be a bad father.
– Jae Yi's hostility toward Eun Jo could be because seeing Eun Jo reminds him that he is a half noble himself. Maybe Jae Yi is also jealous of Eun Jo for having a good father and a brother who is still fond of her even though she is a half noble.

● The incident in the Gyeongo Year keeps being talked about from episode 1 till now. At first, I thought it was just something that happened in the past. Nevertheless, looking at how people keep bringing up the Gyeongo Year, what happened must still hold importance in their current timeline. Aside from being curious about the incident, it also propels people to ask whether Yeol and Eun Jo could have any connection between them linked to the incident in the Gyeongo Year.

● Watching Eun Jo and Yeol having heartache, viewers' hearts also ache along with them. If their sweet scenes together give joy to viewers, their heartbroken scenes leave many viewers drained. Their heartbreak is hurtful, and I don't even want to think or write about it if I could, but it is one of the episode's highlights. The only thing I like about their heartbreak is that it allows us to see Yeol's feelings for Eun Jo are genuinely sincere.

● I never thought their souls would swap when they were in different places. I thought it would happen when they were in some sort of accident together. Their soul swap seems to be triggered by the bracelets given by the little monk.

May the bracelets are heavy-duty enough since we still have 12 episodes to go.

Other happenings:
The King is exposed to poisonous incense under the Chief Secretary's order. Can the King not die in this drama? If the King ends up dying, Yeol most probably will be the next in line to be King. If Yeol becomes King later, wouldn't that be an obstacle in his relationship with Eun Jo?

Jae Yi's effort to stop Eun Jo from marrying his grandpa almost feels like he is a cupid for Yeol and Eun Jo. Yes, Eun Jo used him to turn Yeol down, and Jae Yi's effort to stop the marriage didn't really succeed, but he has me rooting for him when he's making a fuss trying to stop headstrong Eun Jo from marrying his grandpa. No one wants Eun Jo to be a widow, and Eun Jo's status as a widow will surely make it harder for her to be with Yeol.

Gil Dong is wrongly accused of being the one who killed the imprisoned Chief Inspector. Can Eun Jo get her alter identity cleared of the murder accusation?

Highlights:

Eun Jo and Yeol's misunderstanding resolves naturally as they talk inside Hyeminseo.
– In episode 2, Eun Jo thought Yeol set a trap to catch her.
– In episode 3, while treating Yeol's wound, she asks him how he got injured. Yeol tells her he got hurt when he was helping someone escape to safety. Only then does Eun Jo realize Yeol really meant it when he said he will embrace Gil Dong's thievery as long as his doings still in the range where Yeol can reach.

Yeol goes to have a meet-up with the King.
– When Eun Jo goes to the Chief Inspector's house as one of her duties as a physician, by chance, she ends up picking up the book with the Chief Inspector's crimes recorded in it.
– Eun Jo is appalled, but the person who might be able to do better than her with the evidence of the Chief Inspector's crimes, whom she can only think of at that moment, is Yeol.
– With that in mind, Eun Jo again disguises as Gil Dong that night and goes to meet Yeol. She gives the book to Yeol—hoping that Yeol will take action—but she is met with a cold shoulder.
– Yeol said he embraces his thievery, but he also won't take action against corrupted officials in Joseon.
– Only after Gil Dong leaves in disappointment does Yeol read the letter left by Gil Dong, intended for the Grand Prince, which is him.
Annoyed and ego-bruised by Gil Dong's earnestness, Yeol decides to meet his King brother.

– Yeol last met his King brother on the night of the Gyeongo Year. This time, Yeol goes to meet the King because he expects the King to punish the Chief Inspector personally to make sure the Chief Inspector really gets punished.
– After the King gets to know Yeol's true intention on why he reports the matter by himself to His Majesty, which is because he feels humiliated, the King decides to play into his role as Yeol's elder brother and punishes the Chief Inspector to spare Yeol's last bit of pride.

Yeol's feelings for Eun Jo grow.
– Yeol is hoping their first kiss is not a mistake.
– In a later meeting with Eun Jo, Yeol even asks Eun Jo whether she has a man she loves. Yeol also asks Eun Jo out on a date and clearly states his intention of wanting to start courting her.

Afterthoughts on the highlights:
● With Eun Jo's misunderstanding of Yeol resolved, Eun Jo is thankful to Yeol, and she gets to know Yeol better without Yeol knowing she is actually Gil Dong.
– I'm so happy to see their misunderstanding resolve so naturally and quickly, wasting no time. I think Yeol's side as a royal aide who enables her thievery and lets her take care of her people in her own way is what makes Eun Jo open her heart further to Yeol and grow fond of him.

● From Yeol's meeting with His Majesty the King, it seems like there was a serious incident that happened in the palace on the night of the Gyeongo Year, which has since severely disrupted and left a mark on the lives of those people who were involved.
– I can't wrap my head around the King's relationship with Yeol—the King said Yeol drew his sword on His Majesty in their last meeting years before, but yet the King still acts to punish the Chief Inspector for Yeol.

Yeol feels like a green-flag man. He is straightforward with his feelings. He also communicates with confidence and clearly, without confusing Eun Jo. It is such a joy to see when a character knows and is sure of their own feelings, instead of a character who doesn't know what they want.

Other happenings:
The supernatural aspects of this drama are absolutely intriguing.
– It feels quite magical when there is a timely butterfly flying past Eun Jo, leading her to look in Yeol's direction, and when a cat makes a meow sound, catching Yeol's attention, which then brings him to Hyeminseo where Eun Jo is. It is all the more fascinating when the cat is shown to have the shadow of a man with a gat

It would be interesting to see if there would be an entity like a deity appearing in the upcoming episodes 😂

● It's unexpected to see the Chief Secretary and his allies are not afraid of the King, but are rather being cautious of Prince Lee Yeol. It is to the point that he even tells his people to secretly follow Prince Lee Yeol to see where he goes and who he is with.
– It would be frustrating to see if the Chief Secretary later becomes a threat to Yeol and Eun Jo's safety.

● It is so nice to see Eun Jo and Yeol spending time talking to each other above Hyeminseo's roofs.

– This drama can feel heavy at times with its palace politics. However, their sweet scenes together give people strength to continue watching this drama. Even more so when Yeol indirectly tells Eun Jo that he will support her and that she can quit everything if she wants to. That warms people's hearts, especially those who are having a hard time.

Highlights:
● Prince Lee Yeol says he is going to punish Eun Jo for treating him like a mad servant in their first meeting. Nevertheless, during their appointment, he is actually intends to bestow her a pair of flower shoes hoping that his gift can bring even a little happiness into her life.

● Prince Lee Yeol starts to understand the reason behind Hong Gil Dong's thievery. At first, Yeol thought Gil Dong is a greedy thief who is only stealing for his own gain.
- After he heard the story from Lady Dong Ju; a widow with a child, he gets to know the truth that many poor people who living in hardship have received the stolen goods from Gil Dong. It just that many of them are being quiet about it since Gil Dong asks them to.
- With that, Yeol comes to be in the same page with Gil Dong. Yeol says Gil Dong may continue to look after of his people in his own way, as long as his thievery is still in the range that Yeol can embrace of.

● Prince Lee Yeol & Eun Jo meet again after they both have been searching for each other since their first kiss.

- When Eun Jo sees Yeol is coming inside Hyeminseo (the clinic she works at), Eun Jo nervously thought that Yeol knows she is Gil Dong and that Yeol has come to catch her
- Turn out, Yeol still unknown of her alter identity as Gil Dong and Yeol recognizes her from her back that she is the thief of his kiss who he has been looking for.

Afterthoughts on the highlights:
● Not sure whether Yeol's good acts toward Eun Jo is because Yeol himself is a caring person or it is because he indeed start to care more about Eun Jo. Anyway, it is still a good thing for Eun Jo if she ends up with Yeol later in the story—a caring person is more often than not a caring partner too.

● It's a dismay that there is a misunderstanding from Eun Jo's side as Gil Dong. Eun Jo thought Yeol's talk for being on the same page as her is just a trick for him to stall time so patrolling guards will have enough time to catch her. Let's see how this confusion between them is resolving in later episodes.

● Yeol and Eun Jo have less screentime of them being together in episode 2 for those who are waiting to see their scene together. I'm happy they at least meet again before the end of episode 2. Can't wait to see how Eun Jo will act in front of Yeol who she stole a kiss from.

Other happening:
● As a viewer, we know Eun Jo is Gil Dong, but I'm still surprise to see Eun Jo's strong archery skill when she can shoot an arrow accurately right through a flying sparrow's heart.

● It is so impressing to see Hye Rim's intention of wanting to support the gisaeng and her future husband's relationship. Nonsense? Yes. She learns from a book that's a wife's virtue to do so. Hye Rim looks so harmless here. Can't she not be a 3rd person?

● Does Hye Rim's heart flutter for Prince Lee Yeol when he helps her from tripping on her step? If she in fact has fallen for Prince Lee Yeol, will she follow her heart? Or, will she try to love Jae Yi as a loving wife is one of wife's virtues too?

To My Beloved Thief Ep 2 Highlights: Moon Sang Min Embracing Nam Ji Hyun's Thievery

Sunday, January 11, 2026

Highlights:
● The backstory of why Prince Lee Yeol wants to be as still as a mouse, not wanting his presence to alert His Majesty the King at all, is revealed to be due to his determination to guard his mom, Her Majesty the Queen Dowager’s safety.
– In order to further avoid any trouble from coming his way, he goes to the extent of refusing to marry the wealthy chief inspector’s daughter.

Three times Prince Lee Yeol is drawn to Eun Jo.
– When Eun Jo appears and suddenly pulls Prince Lee Yeol to the side to protect him from getting hit with a wooden stick.
– When Eun Jo tells Yeol that her mom is the blessing amidst all the misery, tears, and hardship in her life.

– When Eun Jo lets raindrops hit her hand as she enjoys the comfort of the falling rain, and Yeol can’t take his eyes off admiring Eun Jo.

Eun Jo gives a sudden kiss to Prince Lee Yeol.
– Eun Jo is walking mindlessly and starts to regret that she won’t have the chance anymore to experience love as a woman once she is married to the sick and bedridden grandpa.
– Forgetting about her appointment with Yeol, Eun Jo walks alone in the night without realizing she is heading toward the place where Yeol is waiting for her.
– Intending to U-turn and go back to her own supposed way, Eun Jo notices a black butterfly flies past her, leading her to look at Yeol, who is waiting for her.
– Cherry blossom petals are flying everywhere in the air, and Yeol is standing there looking like he has become one with the dreamy scenery.

– Thinking what if that night is her last night of being a woman as she is, as if she was under a magic spell, Eun Jo sprints ahead and gives Yeol a sudden kiss.
– They share a kiss, and time feels like it stops for a moment for them.
– When Eun Jo finally comes to her senses, she herself is shocked by what she did too. She quickly covers up for herself by saying she will take the kiss as the reward for saving him the other day. In a rush, she then dashes away and leaves Prince Lee Yeol stiffened in shock on the spot.

Afterthoughts on the highlights:
● Will Prince Lee Yeol continuously live like a mouse for his mom’s safety? Can living like a mouse really safeguard his mom from the threat in the palace?
– I don’t think keeping a low profile is enough to protect his mom. Bad people won’t just let one get away just because they stay still.
Sooner or later, Prince Lee Yeol will have to take more progressive actions if he wants to protect his people.

I think Eun Jo’s heart also flutters for Prince Lee Yeol the moment when he went in front of her to shelter her from the rain before a big pool of water splashed him and leaving his back totally drenched.

It’s bizarre to kiss someone you barely know, and even more so when you just run afterward without giving any explanation.
– Plot-wise, it’s understandable why she lost her mind at that moment. In her life, in which she has gone through enough hardship, it is no genius to guess that it adds to her despair the fact that she has to marry an old bedridden grandpa.
– On the flip side, it seems like a fateful kiss

The kiss was possible because a butterfly led her to look in Yeol’s direction when she was about to U-turn, and Yeol was still there waiting for her even though it had gone past their appointment time.

Other Happenings:
● At first, when Prince Lee Yeol first appears at the Police bureau, I thought he was just someone unserious and only idling his life away in whatever he does. As Prince Lee Yeol digs deeper in the effort to catch Hong Gil Dong for thievery, his intelligence shines, and I realize he’s anything but a bluff.

● It’s heartbreaking to see Eun Jo betrothed to the Im family’s bedridden grandpa. This is a whole curious point for viewers to watch whether Eun Jo will indeed become Im grandpa’s wife or there will be a plot twist later. The story is truly going to be unimaginable if Eun Jo’s betrothal to Im grandpa proceeds as planned.

Jae Yi purposely acts like a womanizer and lets himself be seen by Hye Rim in the bookstore where he is spending time with a gisaeng. He wants to scare Hye Rim so she breaks off their engagement.

– In spite of that, will their engagement really end?
– It will be interesting to see if this story will end up with a triangle or rectangle love. It would be so cute if Jae Yi and Hye Rim can have their own cute love arc instead of being the 3rd or 4th person in the main leads’ love story.

1️⃣ Possessed Gyeon U returns to be in control of his own body every time there is physical touch between him and Seong Ah. After Seong Ah knows Gyeon U can have control over his own body every time there is physical touch between them, she brings Gyeon U back to her house with them holding hands together.

Since only Seong Ah can keep the ghost in Gyeon U's body under control, Seong Ah's spirit mom reluctantly gives permission for Gyeon U to sleep in Seong Ah's room during his stay in the shrine. Seong Ah gives the ghost who is inside Gyeon U's body a temporary nickname—she calls the ghost Bongsu.

2️⃣ Bongsu is a ghost who was a teenager soldier before he lost his life in a battle. Bongsu doesn't remember his name and that's the reason he can't cross over to the other world as a deceased. Bongsu is dazzled by Seong Ah's beauty from the time he saw her dance the flower lantern dance with Yeom Hwa.

Seong Ah and her spirit mom, along with other shamans of their alliance, are powerless to chase Bongsu out of Gyeon U's body. All they can do is only waiting for Bongsu to recall his own name, get closure for any regrets he has in the living world and then for him to cross over to the other world by his own will.

3️⃣ After being possessed by Bongsu, Gyeon U's ears can hear the traumatizing battle gun sounds that traumatize Bongsu whenever Bongsu hears gun sound effects. That is the start of Gyeon U being able to hear what ghosts hear. For the day of Gyeon U's archery competition, Bongsu teaches Seong Ah the Suppress Technique so Gyeon U can have control over his own body during the competition without having to rely on physical touch from Seong Ah.

However, on that day, Yeom Hwa uses the Unify Spell, trying to be one with Bongsu's spirit, and that becomes an attack on Gyeon U. The attack causes Gyeon U's eyes to be able to see ghosts too, and he saw Seong Ah in her fairy form for the first time on that day—the way how Seong Ah looks to Bongsu.

After the competition, Gyeon U tells his condition to Seong Ah's great aunt who is also a shaman, and she warns Gyeon U to be careful not to be tainted by blood, otherwise his body will be fully taken over by Bongsu.

4️⃣ Gyeon U gets hurt and tainted by his own blood when he is trying to stop Mo Beom from committing suicide. Bongsu immediately uses the chance to fully take over and become the new owner of Gyeon U's body.

While Bongsu has full control over Gyeon U's body, he lives his life diligently as Gyeon U to the point he does his best in archery practice too, thinking that he wants to fully replace the presence of the real Gyeon U. As for Seong Ah, her touch can no longer help Gyeon U in keeping Bongsu under control. The real Gyeon U only has control over his own body during the ghost hour (1:30a.m.-3:30a.m.).

5️⃣ Bongsu is heartbroken when he sees that Seong Ah only smiles happily in front of him when she thought he was the real Gyeon U. It breaks Bongsu too to see with his own eyes that Seong Ah only wants to find his real name for him to quickly cross over to the other world.

Upset, Bongsu throws a tantrum and conflict arises between him, Seong Ah, and Jiho. Fearing that Bongsu will overtake Gyeon U's body for real, Jiho later takes Bongsu's ring and gives it to Yeom Hwa, believing that she will do a rite to help Gyeon U regain control over his own body. However, Yeom Hwa uses the ring to hold a rite to summon a grim reaper to collect Gyeon U's soul for her goal of turning Bongsu into an evil deity.

The rite causes Bongsu pain, and he retaliates by reading shamanic spells to make the grim reaper go and collect Yeon Hwa's soul instead.
In their contest of wills, Bongsu manages to redirect the grim reaper from taking Gyeon U's soul. Instead, Seong Ah and Yeom Hwa's spirit mom, General Dong Cheon shaman, becomes the one whose soul is taken by the summoned grim reaper.

Her soul is taken because she becomes a human amulet for Yeom Hwa without Yeom Hwa realizing it. Witnessing their spirit mom breathe her last, Yeom Hwa regrets her own doings and runs to look for Bongsu to hold him responsible—but Bongsu has run away.

6️⃣ Even though Seong Ah is heartbroken by her spirit mom's passing, she still remembers her spirit mom's teaching to truly listen to ghost in order to give them the consolation they need to cross over to the other world. So, Seong Ah decides to bring Bongsu's spirit along with her and go missing for years trying to look for ways to help Bongsu.

In the meantime, everyone moves forward in their lifes, graduates high school, and goes to college. Time passes and while they are still waiting for Seong Ah to come back, Gyeon U has been actively looking for her all around the land of South Korea, only to no avail.

7️⃣ Yeom Hwa asks Gyeon U to tell her if he ever finds Seong Ah. This is because a rite needs to be held to exorcise Bongsu, who now stays in Seong Ah's body as an evil deity. The act of exorcising Bongsu will very likely cause Seong Ah to lose her life.

Yeom Hwa also asks Gyeon U to tell her if Seong Ah ever goes to his dream to bid him goodbye in white clothes. Dreaming of Seong Ah coming to bid goodbye in white clothes means she has already died, and all they have to do is collect her body for the exorcism rite. There are chances they can see Seong Ah in dreams because Gyeon U, Seong Ah, and Yeom Hwa were once bound by unify spell when Yeom Hwa did a rite wanting to be one with Bongsu's spirit in the past.

Gyeon U then starts to frequently come to Seong Ah's dream when he is sleeping at night, but he does not tell Yeom Hwa about it. Gyeon U indeed starts to come to Seong Ah's dream, but Seong Ah is always in hiding every time he comes. Seong Ah hides because she worries she will cause harm to Gyeon U.

Until one day, Gyeon U is inside Seong Ah's dream again, and he later decides to visit Flower Master shaman's shrine at the beachside after he sees the shrine drawing on the blackboard in Seong Ah's dream.

In the shrine, Gyeon U gets lucky and he finds Seong Ah!

8️⃣ Gyeon U finally finds Seong Ah, but Seong Ah's body has been taken over by Bongsu.

Bongsu tells Gyeon U that Seong Ah's spirit vessel is starting to crack for holding onto his spirit, which is so strong as an evil deity. Bongsu wants to leave Seong Ah's body, but she is not letting him go—maybe for the reason of protecting people and preventing living things from dying because of Bongsu's power as an evil deity. Unsure of the reason why,
Bongsu also can’t switch the body’s control over to Seong Ah at his own will.

Bongsu then tells Gyeon U where to find Seong Ah if he happens to be inside Seong Ah's dream again. When Gyeon U is inside Seong Ah's dream again, he pretends to be Bongsu and only then does Seong Ah come out from her hideout. Gyeon U then tells Seong Ah he is Gyeon U, not Bongsu.

They kiss in the dream.
With that, Bongsu goes back inside Gyeon U's body, and Seong Ah is herself again when she wakes up from her sleep. Gyeon U tells Seong Ah he will take care of matters related to Bongsu, so he asks her to let him.

9️⃣ After Gyeon U spends some time with Seong Ah,

Yeom Hwa comes to fetch him for the exorcism rite. A
spell is cast on Seong Ah when she is asleep to keep her from waking up while they are trying to send Bongsu to cross over to the other world forcefully using the rite. When the rite is still going on, Seong Ah manages to wake up from her sleep after she realizes she is deliberately being held in her sleep with a dream.

Seong Ah quickly rushes back to the shrine where she and her spirit mom used to live together. She goes back there to beg the shrine deities and her patron deity to return so she can have her power back as a shaman again. After she begs desperately in her cry, the shrine deities and her patron deity return to the shrine along with her spirit mom too as one of the deities😭

With that, Seong Ah's shaman power returns to her. Regaining her power, Seong Ah immediately runs to find Gyeon U and Yeom Hwa in the abandoned house.

1️⃣0️⃣ When Seong Ah reaches the abandoned house, she manages to stop the dangerous exorcism rite, and Gyeon U too is able to help Bongsu remember who he really is just in time. Bongsu's real name is Jang Yoon Bo. In the abandoned house, a parallel moment happens. Bongsu bids goodbye to Seong Ah at the place they first met.

After sending Bongsu off, it is a happily-ever-after ending for everyone.

Gyeon U is selected to join the national archery team to represent the Republic of Korea in the 2028 LA Olympic Games.
Seong Ah also realizes being a shaman is her true calling. So, she continues to be one instead of going to college like others.

Brief Commentary:
Bongsu is an entertaining addition to this drama's plot. His demeanor when he is in control of Gyeon U and Seong Ah's body certainly puts viewers on hook while watching the drama.

When Bongsu is in control of Gyeon U's body, it is amusing to watch Gyeon U looking bubbly and lively with Bongsu's persona, in contrast to real Gyeon U who is more of a taciturn person.

Meanwhile, Bongsu is a rebel in his fashion sense when he is in control of Seong Ah's body. He causes headache for Gyeon U and Jiho by wearing his bold choice of fashion along with an attitude totally opposite from who Seong Ah is as a person.

Bongsu is definitely a fun character. However, it is indeed eerie too to see that he actually really was coveting to take the real Gyeon U's life by diligently practicing archery and making friends with people in Gyeon U's surroundings when he had full control over Gyeon U's body.

Thank God, Bongsu redeems himself near the drama's ending when he's willing to be sent off to the other world, even if by means of force.
